Our Name

In April of this year I was presented an opportunity to meet some new folks & potentially play in a band with them. After we met & then played a couple of times together things just came together so we proceeded to rehearse with the goal of playing a gig or two this year. Now since we had officially decided to call ourselves a band - we needed a name! Well, we tossed around a few names to see what might fit (Whiddle Sticks - too country; Crazy Asians - too weird; Oceans Floor - already taken) but none of them seemed like the right name for "us." One day I was reading about Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego & how they were asked to worship King Nebechenezer's gods but they refused. Well, King Boy decided he'd throw them in the fiery furnace & their response was, "Go for it! - OUR God will deliver us from the fire, but EVEN IF He doesn't, we will still worship Him!!" Needless to say, I loved their attitude & faith. I started to think - that's a rare mentality today & what if we could agree on maintaining that attitude in our lives. One night @ rehearsal, I told the guys about the story & tossed out the idea of us calling ourselves EVEN IF while displaying that attitude in our daily lives. We thought on it for awhile, scheduled our first gig & now we are officially EVEN IF. We are playing Sept 1st @ 5 pm @ Lakeview Park in Nampa (off Garrity).
